ABOUT DAN
Dan Hamilton is the Operating Partner of Keller Williams Realty Greenville, one of the Upstate’s largest and fastest growing general real estate brokerage companies, employing over 150 agents and staff. Dan also is a principal in a residential development and construction company that specializes in infill and neo-traditional development.
As someone who has signs the front of the paycheck every two weeks, Dan knows what it takes to be successful in a small business environment. He knows Columbia needs more leaders with real world business experience and he will take a common sense, business approach to the State House. Prior to starting his real estate business, Dan worked as a Congressional Aide to (then-Congressman) Jim DeMint.
Dan has lived in Taylors for over 25 years and takes pride in making his community a better place. Dan and his wife, Kelly, have been married for 9 years and have three children. Dan’s parents Joan and Glenn, and several other members of his extended family also reside in the district.
In addition to his business success, Dan has taken the time to give back to his community in many different ways. Dan’s past and current community involvement includes:
Board Member, Carolina Hope Christian Adoption Agency
Director & Chairman, Greenville Housing Fund
Director & Vice Chairman, Partners for Responsible Growth
Director & Secretary/Treasurer, Greater Greenville Association of REALTORS
Director, South Carolina Association of REALTORS
Director & Vice Chairman, Greenville County Redevelopment Authority
Director, Green Tree Global
Co-Chairman, Greenville Workforce Housing Trust Fund Task Force
Advisory Committee, Blue Ridge Council of Boy Scouts of America
Dan is passionate about homeownership opportunities for all. To that end, he worked in conjunction with the South Carolina Association of REALTORS and the South Carolina General Assembly and Governor to establish the “Home Ownership: The American Dream” license plate. The specialty tag generates income that is used to support affordable and workforce housing opportunities across South Carolina.
Partly because of his commitments to family and community, Dan was named as one of the Greenville Magazine’s “Best and Brightest: 35 and Under” in 2007.
